Hello, I am Jennifer Yao, a young woman who enjoys writing poetry and creating art. On March 6th 2025, I suffered a hemorragic cerebrovascular accident also known as CVA alson known as a stroke. I lost the use of my dominant right side and struggle with aphasia when trying to convey my thoughts. I have been learning to use my left hand to eat, write and bathe. Many believe that most function you can regain will be in the first 6 months after the stroke but I am not giving up. I am work in progress. The progress may be slow but at least it's always forward.
This is a minor setback for a major comeback
I don't feel as if it is minor
This setback is causing a lot of effort
It's hard
It's tough
It's challenging
It's demanding
But I can't give up
I won't give up
Because I am here for the major comeback
Above all else I will prevail
COMEBACK! Succeed! CONQUER!
