Alyssa Nagahiro is an artist at ECF Art Center San Pedro. Nagahiro is inspired by animals and her Japanese heritage, especially marine life and birds. She is drawn to their beauty and movement; Nagahiro often captures a sense of wonder and quiet observation in her work. Her connection to the rural landscapes of her family’s hometown in Japan also shapes how she sees nature and tells visual stories. She works with watercolor, colored pencil, printmaking techniques such as dry point and linocut. Using these materials, Nagahiro explores texture and detail through drawing. Nagahiro enjoys experimenting and having fun with different mediums. Her artwork is a way to share her thoughts and feelings, giving viewers a more personal glimpse into her world.
